SA Health's digital journey: From a system of record to a system of insight
Challenge
SA Health's digital health journey began in earnest in 2012 with the establishment of its Enterprise Patient Administration System (EPAS). In 2018, a review of EPAS led to the introduction of a variety of reforms to facilitate greater participation of clinicians, more on-the-ground ownership of the system and improved engagement with Allscripts to achieve the system's long-term objectives of establishing a single instance, statewide electronic medical record.
